| We own and operate our own sawmill, and mill out all of the lumber for our rustic furniture. We take it from tree, to board, to a finished piece of handmade furniture all under the same “roof.“ Not only does providing our own materials enable us to keep the cost down on our furniture by eliminating the middle man (lumber yard), but it also insures that we constantly have a good selection of wide pine slabs on hand. Wide pine slabs have a live edge. This live edge is actually the outside of the tree just the way nature created it. Some slabs have lots of knots and a wavy edge. We call this character. Others have more of a straight uniform live edge (if the tree grew straight with few branches on it’s trunk.) Whichever your preference we have a good selection of both. Our pine slabs average 24 inch wide! 26 inch and 28 inch wide slabs are also common. At $50.00 for an eight foot piece, we have the best prices on wide pine slabs in the area. Wide pine slabs are commonly used for bar tops or counter tops where that rustic, lodge look is desired. We offer to sand and urethane these pieces so they are ready to install for an additional charge, although many people prefer to do it themselves. |

We also custom mill mantle pieces. We have 2inch and 3inch thick on hand, and will custom mill a mantle piece however thick, wide, and long as you would like.
