Joshua Sargent is one of those men that God has made, molded, and carved in the mountains of New Hampshire.

Legendary Craftsmanship
Located in the shadow of Mt. Chocorua, The North Country Whittler is a unique store filled with hand carved sculptures. Each piece is crafted from a solid block of wood, a process that is accomplished by using the largest chainsaws, right down to the smallest gouges.
Most of the logs used have been rejected from the lumber mill for one reason or another. These trees have grown in the area, in some cases for hundreds of years, providing refuge for the areas wildlife. That's why it is no surprise to see woodland creatures, such as raccoons or bears, emerge from the wood as it is carved.
Each sculpture ranging from mere inches to eighteen feet high all receive the same attention to craftsmanship and detail.
